KOA Care Camps Grant SWKCF $20,000+

“Camping is more than just about having fun. It’s an opportunity to escape from everyday cares, clear your mind, make new friends and get back to the little things that mean so much. In fact, camping can have a remarkable healing effect on both body and spirit.

That’s why in 1984 KOA campground owners came together to create the KOA Care Camps Trust. This trust raises money to send children with cancer to specialized summer camps throughout North America.

At these camps, kids have the chance to experience summer camp with others their age who understand what they’re going through. They swim, hike, sing, laugh, make new friends and create joy-filled memories.”

SWKCF is happy to announce KOA Care Camps has selected our cause as one they would like to give back to in 2019. In the month of May, a generous amount was accepted: $800 for storage tents, $5,500 for Day and Family Camp, and $14,000 towards Camp Sunrise & Sidekicks. This totals up to a remarkable $20,300 contribution for our campers!

From all of us a part of the SWKCF Family - we are so grateful for all the continued support throughout the years! The funding received will make a huge difference for this upcoming summer’s programming. Without donors like KOA Care Camps, our success wouldn’t be possible. We appreciate all the you do for our kids - thanks for helping us continually celebrate life!
