Lori Limberg Retires as Head of AZCS&S Kitchen

If you’ve ever been a camper or visitor at Arizona Camp Sunrise & Sidekicks, you know that the kitchen and the food made in it is one of the most essential components of what makes camp well … camp! With homemade recipes to keep you fueled up, who can complain?

Lori Limberg, head chef, has gifted AZCS&S with 10 wonderful years of service. She first became involved when her daughter, Liz, was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 15. Liz attended camp and shortly thereafter, Lori followed with an urge to give back. Once she started in the kitchen, she began implementing some of her very own recipes to really transcend the menu and from then on, she was hooked.

Now in 2019, Lori is stepping down from her role in the kitchen and we can’t say we aren’t sad to see her (as well as her cooking) go. Recently, we talked with Lori and asked her to reflect back on favorite memories of camp throughout the years:

“My favorite memory was actually experiencing how my own children impacted the lives of others. I admired their interactions with the campers and how the campers both Sunrise and Sidekicks looked up to them. The effect they had on camp made me proud to be their Mom.”

The Southwest Kids Cancer Foundation applauds Lori for all of her hard-work and involvement she had with AZCS&S. We hope you enjoy your retirement but come back to visit soon!
